RFSdLUTION NO. 1418 , <br />WHEREAS, Cox Field, the Municipal Airport of the City of <br />Paris, is a valuable asset of the City of Paris and must be pre- <br />served and expanded as the need arises; and, <br />WHER EAS, the City of Paris has for many years desired to <br />improve and expand its airport facilities and has been aware of <br />the necessity of proper planning before the commencing of any <br />expansion; and, <br />WHEREAS, Section 13 of the Airport and Airway Development <br />Act of 1970, Public Law 91-258, dated May 21, 1970, provides for <br />the making of planning grants to public agencies for airport <br />master plans; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is estimated that the cost of the Airport <br />Master Plan will be $8,680.00; and, <br />WHEREAS, considering the advantages, disadvantages and li- <br />mitations upon the use, and accepting the requirements placed <br />upon such a program, it is deemed that it will be to the best <br />interest of the City of Paris that an Airport Master Plan be <br />prepared; NOW, THEREFOR E, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That an application be made to the Department of <br />Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, for <br />a grant in an amount authorized by Section 13 of the <br />Airport and Airway Development Act of 1970, which <br />amount is permanently estimated to be $5,800.00 and <br />that the City of Paris will pay the balance of the <br />cost from other funds available to it. <br />2. That C. L. Walker, City Manager of the City of <br />Paris, Paris, Texas, is hereby authorized and di- <br />rected to execute and file such application with <br />the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation <br />Administration, to provide additional information <br />and to furnish such documents as will be required by <br />said Department, to execute such contracts as are <br />required by said Department, and to act as the au- <br />thorized correspondent of the City of Paris, Paris, <br />Texas. <br />3. That the United Statesof America and the Department <br />of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, <br />be, and they hereby are, assured of full compliance <br />
