CITY COUNCIL AGENDA Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Paris shall meet in special session on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the City Council Chamber, 107 E. Kaufinan Street, in Paris, Texas. The matters to be discussed and acted upon are as follows: Opening Agenda 1. Call meeting to order. 2. Invocation. 3. Pledge of Allegiance. 4. Citizens' forum. (Persons desiring to address the Council must limit their presentation to no more than two minutes. Unless an item is posted on the Agenda, the Texas Open Meetings Act prohibits the Council from responding to any comments other than to refer the matter to a future agenda, to an existing policy, or to a staff person with specific factual information. Claims against the City, Council Members, or employees, as well as individual personnel appeals are not appropriate for citizens' forum.) Regular Agenda 5. Convene into Executive Session pursuant to Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code, Consultation with Attorney, to receive legal advice from the City Attorney about pending or contemplated litigation and/or on matters in which the duty of an attorney to his client under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas, clearly conflict with this chapter, as follows: • Development Corporation Act; • City of Greenville, et al vs. Syngenta Production; Case No. 3:10-CV- 00188; • Ranger Abbott, 125 41 S' S.W. 6. Reconvene into Open Session and possibly take action on those matters discussed in Executive Session. 7. Discuss and possibly act on budgeting for dilapidated structures. 8. Discuss and act on creation of citizen's advisory committee on capital impT'ovements. (A motion to remove this item from the table is required before discussing) 9. Education of City Council as requested by City Council on bond issues. (A motion to remove this item from the table is required before discussing) 10. Presentation and discussion on the 2012-2013 Budget for the City of Paris. 11. Discuss and act on a Resolution calling a public hearing on the City Manager's proposed Budget for fiscal year 2012-2013.
