RFSOLUTION NO. 1368 <br />WHEREAS, Dick Wright and John W. Norton have served <br />two terms of two years each on the City Council of the City <br />of Paris; and, <br />WHERFAS, neither of them are eligible, under the <br />Charter of the City of Paris to seek re-election to the <br />office of Councilman o.f the City of Paris and are now re- <br />tiring from service as Councilmen; and, <br />WHEREAS, John W. Williams, Jr. has served from <br />January 12, 1970, serving out the unexpired term of R. A. <br />I{ennedy; and, <br />WHFREAS, it is the individual and collective judg- <br />ment and opinion of the City Council and all of its mem- <br />bers that the faithful and distinguished service of our <br />fellow-councilmen, Dick Wright, John W. Norton and John <br />W. Williams, Jr., all of whose terms expired April 15, <br />1970, have greatly inured to the benefit of this community <br />and all of its citizens; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is the sincere purpose and desire of the <br />governing body of the City of Paris to express as adequate- <br />ly as words will permit the keen admiration of each and all <br />of us for the unselfish, distinguished and sacrificial ser- <br />vices of Councilmen Wright, Norton and Williams as mem.bers <br />of this governing body, and ta record our sincere wish for <br />their good health and prosperity in the years that lie <br />ahead; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, in regular session convened, on this <br />the 11th day of May, 1970, that this expression of our ad- <br />miration and respect for Dick Wright, John W. Norton and <br />John W. Williams, Jr., be, and the same is hereby adopted, <br />and that the same be spread upon the minutes of the City <br />Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and that a <br />copy of this resolution be forwarded to Dick Wright, John <br />W. Norton and John W. Williams, Jr. <br />Passed and adopted by the unanimous vote of the City <br />Council of the City of Paris, this llth day of May, 1970. <br />B. M.
