RESOLUTION NQ. 1284 .
<br />WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City
<br />Council of the City of Paris, that in the plat of Martin Block,
<br />in Paris, Texas, as shown by said plat, recorded in Book 53,
<br />Page 266, Deed Records, Lamar County, Texas, that a street desig-
<br />nated wise_Street, which lies adjacent,to the South Boundary Line
<br />of Lots 13 thru 24 of Block 1 and adjacent to the North Boundary
<br />Line of' Lots 1 thru 12 of Block 2, being 40 feet in width and
<br />running from the East Boundary Line of Wright Street, now 9th
<br />Street, N. W., approximately 620 feet F-ast to the West Boundary
<br />Line of Division Street, now 7th Street, N. W,, was dedicated as
<br />shown in the plat so filed; and,
<br />WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City
<br />Council of the City of Paris that in the same plat of the same
<br />addition that there is an alley lying adjacent to the Sou th
<br />Boundary Line of Lots 1 thru 12 of Block 1 and adjacent to the
<br />North Boundary Line of Lots 13 thru 24 of Block 1, and being 16
<br />feet in width, and running from the East Boundary Line of W"right
<br />Street, now 9th Street, N, W„ approximately 620 feet East to the
<br />TnTest Boundary Line of Division Street, now 7th Street, N. W.; and,
<br />WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City
<br />Council that Wise Street described in said plat has never be2n
<br />used as a street and that said Lots 13 thru 24 of Block 1 and
<br />Lots 1 thru 12 of Block 2 have never been used for residential
<br />purposes and that there is a common property owner on each side
<br />of the street so described who does not wish to use it as a
<br />street; and,
<br />WHEREA:S, it has been called to the attention of the City
<br />Council that the alley described in said plat has never been
<br />used as an alley and that the said Lots 1 thru 12 and 13 thru
<br />24 of Block 1 have never been used for resid ential purposes and
<br />that there is a common owner of the property adjacent, both on
<br />the North and the South, who does not wish to use it as an alley;
<br />and,
<br />WHEREAS, the Ci ty of Pari s has no intention of opening,
<br />using or maintaining a street 40 f eet wide, lying adjacent to the
<br />South Boundary Line of Lots 13 thru 24 of Slock 1 and adjacent to
<br />the North Boundary Line of Lots 1 th ru 12 of Block 2, or an alley
<br />16 feet wide, or any other width, adjacent to the South Bazndary
<br />Line of Lots 1 thru 12 of Block 1 and adjacent to the North
<br />Boundary Line of Lots 13 thru 24 of Block 1 of said addition,
<br />because there is no one to be served by said street and alley and
<br />no necessity exists therefor; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF :PARIS,
<br />PARIS, TEXAS, That the Mayor of the City of_Paris,.James R. Moore,
<br />be, and he is hereby authorized to execute a quit claim deed to
<br />O. L. Rainey and Blake Moore, the present awners of' Lots 1 thru
<br />24 of Block 1 and Lots 1 thru 12 of Slock 2 of the Martin Block
<br />addition, in Paris, Texas.
