RESOLUTION NO. 1278
<br />WHEREAS, the City of Faris, acting by and through its
<br />Acting City Manager, H. C. Greene, has advertised to receive
<br />bids for the construction of a portion of 33rd Street, S. E,,
<br />more particularly described as followse Beginning at a point
<br />81 feet North of Lover's Lane's North Boundary Line's inter-
<br />section with the West Boundary Line of 33rd Street, S. E. to
<br />a point 40 feet South of the intersection of the North Boundary
<br />Line of Audubon Road with the East Boundary Line of 33rd Street,
<br />S, E., in all a distance of approximately 1474 f eet, and did re~
<br />ceive bids for such project on August 1, 1968, and among the
<br />bids was the bid of Barney Bray, Jr., whose bid was in the
<br />amount of $29,563.22; and,
<br />VrUIREAS, Robert Hayter, the Consultant Engineer on said
<br />project, did advise the City Council at its regular meeting on
<br />this, the 12th day of August, 1968, that the bid of Barney Bray,
<br />Jr, of Paris, Texas, in the amount of $29,563,22, is the lowest
<br />and best bid and has recommended that the same be accepted, for
<br />a soil cement base pavement with asphalt wearing surface; and,
<br />WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that such
<br />bid is the lowest and best bid for such project; NOw, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CQUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />That the bid of Barney Bray, Jr, of Paris, Texas, be accepted
<br />as the lowest and best bid, and that the City Manager, H. C.
<br />Kennemer, be autnorized and directed to enter into a contract
<br />with Barney Bray, Jrm of Paris, Texas, in the amount of
<br />$29,563,22, for the construction of such project, in accordance
<br />with the contract furnished by the Consultant Engineer, and the
<br />plans and specifications covering said praj~?ct.
<br />Passed and adopted this 12th day of August, 1968.
