RESOLUTION NO. 1247 . <br />WHEREAS, the City Council authorized the City Manager to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the sale of 30 acres of land, <br />described as follows: <br />A part of the John Wilson Survey in Lamar County, Texas, <br />and being the West one-half of a 60 acre tract describ ed <br />in Deed from E. R. Walker to D. H. Scott, dated May l, <br />1906, and described by metes and bounds as follows: <br />Beginning at the Southwest corner of said 60 acre tract; <br />THENCE North 48,5 poles to the south boundary of a 30 <br />acre tract deeded to the City of Paris by Randall; <br />THENCE East 99.5 poles to the northwest corner of 30 <br />acres described in deed from D. H. Scott to W. T. Terrell; <br />THENCE South 48,5 poles to the southeast corner of the <br />City of Faris land fill area; <br />THENCE West 99,5 poles to the place of beginning, con~ <br />taining 30 acres, more or less. <br />Being the same property described in deed from S. E. <br />Thompson and wife, Ollie Thompson, to L. M. LeFan, dated <br />November 22, 1950, recorded in deed book 313, page 338, <br />Lamar County Records. <br />AND, WHEREAS, on the 19th day of November, 1967, notice to <br />receive bids for the sale of said property was published in the <br />Paris News; and, <br />WHEREAS, the bids were received in the City Council Room of <br />the City Hall, at 7:00 o'clock P. M,, December 11, 1967, and the <br />bids were opened in open meeting of the City Council, and which <br />bids were as follows: <br />Roland Cagle $2,333.10 <br />Jim N. Thompson $3,780.00 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF PARIS, That the bid of Jim N. Thompson be, and it is hereby <br />declared the highest and best bid, and the Mayor of the City of <br />Paris, Dr. James M. Brunette, is hereby authorized and directed to <br />execute a deed to Jim N. Thompson to said 30 acres of land upon the <br />payment to the City of Paris of the sum of $3,780.00. <br />Passed and adopted tiis llth day of December, A.
