1218 RES CITY COUNCIL ADVERTISED TO RECEIVE BIDS

RESOLUTION NO. 1218 9 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has advertised to receive bids for the constructon of a street, being the extension East, of Graham Street, to the West Boundary Line of North Main 5treet, and for the widening of one block of North Main Street, and has received, on February 3, 1967, bids for such project, and among the bids was the bid of Joe Will.iams and Sons, Contractors from Sherman, Texas, whose bid was in the amount of $43, 581, 08; and, WHEREAS, Hayter Engineering Company, the Consulting Engineer on said project, by letter of February 6, 1967, has advised the City Council that the bid of Joe Williams and Sons of Sherman, Texas, in the amount of $43, 581. 08, is the lowest and best bid, and has recommended that the same be accepted, for a flexible base pavement with asphalt wearing surface; and, WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that such bid is the lowest and best bid for such project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That the bid of Joe Williams and Sons of Sherman, Texas, be accepted as the lowest and best bid, and that the City Manager9 H. C. Kennemer, be authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Joe Williams and Sons of Sherman, Texas, in the amount of $43, 581. 08, for the construction of such project, in accordance with contract furnished by the Consulting Engineer, and the plans and specifications covering said project.
