As specified in Divisions 00 and 01 apply to all work in tiffs Section.. <br /> <br />1.02 DESCRIPTION OF WORK: DEFINITIONS <br /> <br /> A. Abbreviations, Plural Words: Abbreviations, where not defined in Contract <br /> Documents, will be interpreted to mean the normal construction industry <br /> terminology, determined by recognized grammatical roles, by TxDOT. Plural <br /> words will be interpreted as singul~ and singular words will be interpreted as <br /> plural where applicable for context of Contract Documents. <br /> <br /> B. Approved by Architect: In no case releases Contractor from responsibility to <br /> fulfill requirements of Contract Documents. <br /> <br /> C. Demolish: To remove, in whole or part. Demolition of historical or architectural <br /> integrity includes removal of historic architectural materials such as, but not limited to, <br /> materials in the following categories: site work, concrete, masonry, metals, carpentry, <br /> thermal and moisture protection, doors and windows, finishes, specialties, equipment, <br /> furnishings, special construction, conveying systems, mechanical and electrical. <br /> <br /> D. Directed, Requested, Approved, Accepted, etc.: These terms imply "by Architect", <br /> unless otherwise indicated. <br /> <br /> E. Furnish: Supply and deliver to Project site, unloading, unpacking, storage and <br /> readiness for assembly, installation, and similar subsequent requirements. <br /> <br /> F. In Kind: Material(s) and/or components which are an exact match materially, <br /> aesthetically, structurally and methodologically of original existing or historical <br /> material. Structural, material or methodological deviations which do not adversely <br /> affect the aesthetic and/or historic integrity of the material or componem may be <br /> allowed at the Architect's sole discretion. <br /> <br /> G. Install: Operations at Project site, including unloading, unpacking assembly, <br /> erection, placing, anchoring, applying, working to dimension, finishing, curing, <br /> protecting, cleaning, and similar requirements. <br /> <br /> H. Installer: Entity (finn or person) engaged to install work by Con~'actor(s), <br /> subcontractor or sub-subcontractor. Installers are required to be skilled in work they <br /> are engaged to install. <br /> <br /> I. Integrity: Refers to the physical condition and therefore the capacity of the <br /> architectural resource to, convey a sense of time and place or historic identity. Integrity <br /> is a quality that applies to location, design, setting, materials, and workmanship. It refers <br /> to the clarity of the historic identity possessed by a resource.
