Provide seasoned lumber with 19% maximum moisture content at time of dressing <br /> and shipment unless otherwise indicated. <br /> <br />2.02 DIMENSION LUMBER: <br /> <br /> A. For CONCEALED light framing provide "Construction" grade lumber for stud framing <br /> (2" to 4" thick, 2" to 6" wide); no. 2 grade for structural light framing, joists, beams <br /> and planks (2" to 4" thick, 5" and wider); No. 1 grade for beams, posts and timbers <br /> (6" and thicker, 6" and wider); of Douglas Fir or Yellow Pine. <br /> <br />2.03 MISCELLANEOUS LUMBER: <br /> <br /> A. Provide wood for support or attachment of other work including cant strips, bucks, <br /> nailers, blocking, and similar members. Provide lumber of sizes indicated, worked into <br /> shapes shown, and as follows: <br /> <br /> I. Grade: NO. 2 or better, light framing size lumber, Douglas Fir or Yellow Pine. <br />2.04 PLYWOOD: <br /> <br /> A. Trademark: Identify each plywood panel with appropriate APA trademark. <br /> <br /> B. Concealed Performance-Rated Plywood: Where plywood panels will be used provide <br /> APAPerformance-Rated Panels complying' with requirements indicated for grade <br /> designation, span rating, exposure durability classification, edge detail (where <br /> applicable) and thickness. <br /> <br />2.05 MISCELLANEOUS MATERIALS: <br /> <br /> A. Gypsum Sheathing: Complying with ASTM C 79 and the following: <br /> <br /> 1. Water-repellent treated core with water absorption of less than 10% by weight after 2- <br /> hr. immersion (ASTM C 473). <br /> <br /> 2. Size and Edges: 4' wide, not less than 8' long, 5/8" Type X, with square edges on <br /> sides. <br /> <br /> B. Fasteners and Anchorages: Provide size, type, material and finish as indicated and as <br /> recommended by applicable standards, complying with applicable Federal <br /> specifications for nails, staples, scows, bolts, nuts, washers and anchoring devices. <br /> Provide metal hangers and framing anchors of the size end type recommended by the <br /> manufacturer for each use including recommended nails. <br /> <br /> 1. Provide all fasteners and anchorages with a hot-dip zinc coating (ASTM A 153). <br /> <br /> C. Roofing Felt: ASTM D 226, 30-lb. asphalt saturated, for use as shown where wood <br /> blocking for frames comes into contact with concrete surfaces. <br /> <br />2.06 WOOD TREATMENT BY PRESSURE PROCESS: <br /> <br /> A.
