National Hardwood Lumber Association (NHLA) <br /> 3. Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) <br /> <br />1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE: <br /> A. Factory-mark each piece of lumber and plywood with type, grade, mill and grading <br /> agency identification; except omit marking from surfaces to receive transparent <br /> finish, and submit mill certificate that material has been inspected and graded in <br /> accordance with requirements if it cannot be marked on a concealed surface. <br /> <br />1.05 SUBMITrALS: <br /> A. The Conlxactor shall submit to the Construction Manager for approval, full size samples, <br /> minimum 4" width, of replica trims, as well as new trim profiles, as shown on Drawings. <br /> <br /> B. Wood Treatment Data: Submit Ireatment Manufacturer's instructions for proper use of <br /> each type of treated material. <br /> <br /> 1. Preservative Treatment: For each type specified, include certification by <br /> treating plant stating type of preservative sotufion and pressure process <br /> used, net amount of preservative retained and conformance with applicable <br /> standards. <br /> <br />1.06 PRODUCT DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING: <br /> A. Protect finish carpentry materials during work to prevent damage, soiling and <br /> deteriomtion. <br /> <br /> B. Do not deliver finish carpen~7 materials, until painting, wet work, grinding and <br /> similar operations which could damage, soil or deteriorate woodwork have been <br /> completed in Installation areas. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, finish <br /> carpenU~y materials must be stored in other than installation areas, store only in <br /> areas meeting requirements specified for installation areas and as approved by <br /> Construction Manager. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 WOOD PRODUCT QUALITY STANDARDS: <br /> A. Softwood Lumber Standards: Comply with PS 20 and with applicable grading rules of <br /> the respective grading and inspection agency for the species and product indicated. <br /> <br /> B. Plywood Standard: Comply with PS 1. <br /> <br /> C. Hardwood Lumber Standard: Comply with National Hardwood Lumber <br /> Association (NHLA) roles. <br /> <br /> D. Woodworking Standard: Where indicated for a specific product comply with specified <br /> provision of the following Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWl)"Quality <br /> Standards." <br /> <br />2.02 MATERIALS: <br /> A. General: Nominal sizes are indicated, except as shown by detailed dimensions. <br /> Provide dressed or worked and dressed lumber, as applicable, manufactured to <br /> the acmat sizes as required by PS 20 or to actual sizes and pattern as shown, unless <br /> <br /> Section 06200 <br /> Page 24 <br /> <br /> <br />
