4- <br />RESOLUTION NO, 1186 • <br />WJ13EREAS, V. E. Stewart has just completed a service of <br />four years on the City Council of the Ci.ty of Paris, Texas, andhas <br />just finished serving two terms as Mayor of the C-kty of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, during the time Mayor Stewart served as such <br />Councilman and such Mayor, he gave of hisservices and ability for <br />the best interests of Paris, whether on minor or controversial <br />matter s; and, <br />WF3EREAS, during the two years he has served the City of <br />Paris as Mayor, he has conducted the meetings of the City Council <br />wi.th dignity, poise, and directness, and has given unselfishly of <br />his tim-e in the investigation and disposition of whatever matters <br />that came before the City Council, and this was never better <br />demonstrated than the manner in which he took part and helped <br />push to a successful conclusion the 1965 Water and Sewer Bond <br />E3.ection; the success of his efforts was evidenced by the tremendous <br />majority by which said Bond Issue carried; and, <br />WHEt`tEAS, the City Council is fully aware of the sincere <br />devotion of V. E. 5tewart to the City of Paris and the peoples re- <br />siding therein, wnich devotion was constantly expressed in his <br />every attitude toward serving the people of the City of Paris, or <br />serving on the Council as Mayor of the City of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is fully <br />conscious of its inability to express in words the keen respect and <br />admiration of a11 of the memioer s of the City Council for V. E. <br />Stewart; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOj'.,VED BY THE CITY CC}UITCIL OF THE i,,ITY <br />OF PARIS, That w;; here and now, on our part, and on the part of <br />the citizens of Paris, express to the Honorable V. E. Stewart our <br />full and complete appreciation and gratitude to him for his years <br />of service on the City Council and for his two years service as <br />Mayor, and we do here and now extend to him our best wishes for <br />his future welfare. <br />Passed and adopted this 13th day of Anril, A.
