RE50LUTION NO, 1158. <br />WHEREAS, O. A. Broussard III filed with the City of Paris, on Septemiber <br />28, 1965, a certain proposal with reference to certain operations on Cox Field <br />Airport Area; and, <br />WHEREAS, in said proposal, O.A. Broussard III proposed to enter into a <br />ten (10) year lease with the City of Paris, with an option to renew said lease for <br />an additional ten (10) years, and agrees to make the fdlowing improvemc.mts and <br />the following services: <br />That the City of Paris prepare the site and construct a slab foundation <br />uponaxhich to erect a metal building. That the said O. A. Broussard III proposes <br />to erect a metal building for the purpose of furnishing a school for pilot instruc- <br />tion on said base, to provide for aircraft rental service, hangar and storage <br />space, and when necessary, maintenance for aviation in connection with said <br />operation. He further proposes to sell aircraft to the public out of said base of <br />operation. That the City of Paris grant to O, A. Broussard III the exclusive right <br />to handle and sell petroleum products to the aviation industry using Cox Field. <br />That the property involved on said Airport is located immediately North of the <br />Air Terminal Building and parking grounds and is designated on the official plat <br />of Cox Field Airport as Maintenance BuildingArea; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris is aware of the fact that it is to the welfare <br />of the City of Paris to im7rove the facilities on and around Cox Field Airport; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />SE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITYOF PARIS, <br />That the Mayor, V. E. Stewart, be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to <br />enter into a contract widi O. A. Broussard III to lease to him the area above <br />mentioned for a period of ten (10) years, with an option to renew the lease for <br />ten (10) years by notifying the City of Paris in writing thirty (30) days prior to <br />the termination of the primary term of ten (10) years, by which contract the City <br />of Paris agrees to do the site preparation work and erect a concrete foundation <br />upon which to erect a metal building. That the Lessee erect a metal building and <br />maintain the same at his expense, and that from said location the Lessee sha].X, <br />have the exclusive sale of all petroleum products used by the public using the <br />Airport. The Lessee to conduct a school for pilot instruction, to provide air- <br />craft rental service, hangar and storage space, and when necessary, mainte- <br />nance for airplanes using said Airport, and be granted the privilege of selling <br />aircraft to the public out of said operation. That said contract shall provide for <br />an effective date immediately upon execution by the parties hereto. <br />Passed and adopted this 1 lth day of October, A.
