RESOLUTION NO. 1129 .
<br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris, Texas, has just completed a
<br />Master Plan for the regulation of the future growth of the
<br />City of Paris, Texas; and,
<br />WHEREAS, such Master Plan includes, drainage, aerial
<br />photograph of the Paris area, topographical map of the Paris
<br />area, thoroughfares and street plans for the proper movement
<br />of traffic throughout the Paris area, an economic study of
<br />the projected growth of Paris, Texas, a comprehensive amend-
<br />ment to the zoning ordinances of the City of Paris, Texas, and
<br />a land use map indicating the location of the various zoning
<br />districts; and,
<br />WHIIREAS, one man has led the way on all phases of the
<br />Master Plan for the future development of the City of Paris,
<br />Texas, and that man is Louis B. Williams; and,
<br />WHEREAS, Louis B. Williams headed the first delegation
<br />from the Lamar County Chamber of Commercea that appeared be-
<br />fore the City Council to interest the City Council in a
<br />Master Plan for the future growth of the City; and,
<br />WHEREAS, he was made the Chairman of a 100 man committee
<br />to develop a Planning Program for the City of Paris, by the
<br />Paris and Lamar County Chamber of Commerce, which appointment
<br />was later approved and confirmed by the City Council of the
<br />City of Paris, Texas; and,
<br />WHEREAS, Louis B. Williams has worked unceasingly for
<br />some two years with the Planning Program in every particular,
<br />by cooperating with the Consulting Engineers, the Planning
<br />Consultants, The Bureau of Business Research, with each
<br />Committee under his jurisdiction, with the down town business
<br />men, and with the officials of the City of Paris, and with the
<br />City Council of the City o.f Paris, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />TEXAS, That each member of the City Council, and the City
<br />Council of the City of Paris, Texas, takes this opportunity
<br />to express to Louis B. Williams their gratitude and thanks
<br />for his unselfish service,his able assistance to the program,
<br />the untiring efforts given by him to insure the success of the
<br />program, and for lending his outstanding leadership to the de-
<br />velopment of each phase of the Master Plan, and we hereby wish
<br />for him a long and continued residence in the City he has ex-
<br />pended such effort to insure its ord rly future growth.
