RESOLUTION NOo 1049 <br />WHEREAS, the Honorable W. A. Cawthon has just completed a <br />service of four years on the City Council of the City of Paris, <br />Texas, and has just finished serving two terms as Mayor of the <br />City of Paris, beginning in April, 1961 and ending in April, 1963; and, <br />WHEREAS, during the time Mayor Cawthon served as such <br />Councilman and such Mayor, he gave of his services for the best <br />interests of Paris, whether on minor or controversial matters; and, <br />WHEREAS, during the two years he has served the City of Paris <br />as Mayor, he has conducted meetings of the City Council with dignity <br />and directness, and has given unselfishly of his time in investigation <br />and disposition of whatever matters that came before the City <br />Council; and, <br />WHEREAS, this City Council is entirely aware of the sincere <br />devotion of W. A. Cawthon for the City of Paris and the peoples <br />residing therein, which devotion was constantly expressed in his <br />every attitude toward the business of serving the people of the City <br />of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is entirely con- <br />scious of its inability to express in words the keen respect and ad- <br />miration of all of the members of the City Council for W. A. <br />Cawthon; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, That we here and now express to the Honorable W. A. <br />Cawthon our whole and complete appreciation for his years of ser- <br />vice on the City Council and of his two years of service as Mayor, <br />and we do here and now extend to him our best wishes for his <br />future welfareo <br />Passed and adopted this lOth day of April, A.
