RESOLU TION NO. 1031 .
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council did by Ordinance No. 1592, on the 9th day
<br />of July, A. I?. , 1962, change from a Residential I?istrict to a"G!' Commercial
<br />District, the properties located between 25th Street, N. W. and 27th Street,
<br />N. W., on the North Side of Bonham Street, in the City of Pari.s, and being
<br />the properties belonging to the Hodges Estate, C. C. I?ubbs, James W inn
<br />Rice, I. J. Ingram, A. T. Tucker, Mrs. P. S. James, Gladys Campbell,
<br />Troy Allen, and Lawrence McI?owell; and,
<br />W HE FLEAS , the C ity C ounc i1 did, on the 13 th da y of August, A. D., 1962,
<br />by an amendment to the Zoning 4rdina.nces, cha.nge from a Residentia.l District
<br />to a"G" Commercial District, a lot located on the East Side of 27th Street,
<br />N. W., immedia.tely North of a lot belonging to Lawrence McI?owell, and being
<br />a lot fronting 70 feet on 27th Street, N. W. and extending East 67 feet, belong-
<br />ing to W. T. Murphy; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council did change from a Residential I?istrict to a
<br />"G" Commercial I?istrict a lot located on the West Side of 25th Street, N.W.,
<br />and being a lot fronting 112 feet on 25th Street, N. W. and 295. 5 feet deep,
<br />belonging to the W. E. McKnight Esta,te; and,
<br />WHEREAS, all of such changes were made by the City Council in re-
<br />liance upon the prospect of a large shopping center to accommodate the resi-
<br />dents of W es t Paris ; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council has now been advised that said shopping
<br />center will not be constructed, and that all of the options have expired, and
<br />the project has been abondoned; and,
<br />W F3EREAS, it is the opinion of the C ity C ounc il tha.t it is to the ad -
<br />vantage of the City of Paris and to the resiydents in the neighborhood i.nvolved,
<br />and to the owners of the property i.nvolved, that this property be changed
<br />from a"G" C ommercial District to a Residential District, as the same is de-
<br />fined under Ordinance No. 1122, NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PAR15,
<br />That the matter ia hereby referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission
<br />fo r a hea rin,g upon the p ropos e d amendment to the Z oning Ordinanc es , and a
<br />Public Hearing is hereby fixed in the City Council Room, in the City Hall, at
<br />7:00 o'clock P. M. on the 14th day of January, A. D. , 1963.
