RESOLUTICN NO. 1025 WHER.EAS, the City of Pa.ris has heretofore filed with the Texas Sta.te I?epartment of Health its application for asaista.nce in preparing a compre- hensive plan for the future development of the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the Texas State 1?epartment of Health has had prepared and submitted to the City Council, a contract covering all phases of such master plan, which contract has been examined by the City of Paris; and, WHEREAS, the C ity Council is aware of the fact that in order for the City of Paris to develop systema.tically and proper in the future, such com- prehensive plan is necessary and desirable; and, WHEREAS, the Texas State I?epartment of Health has been designated the Planning Agency by the United Sta.tes GovErnment under Section 701, Title VII, Housing Act of 1954, 83rd Congress, 68th Sta,tute 590, as amended; and, WHEREAS, the City Counci.l has heretofore selected as its engineering planner the Engineering Firm of Forrest and Cotton, Inc, and Marvin R. Springer & Associates, all of Dallas, Texas; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RES CLVEI? B Y THE C ITY C OUNC IL OF THE C ITY OF PA R]S, That the Mayor of the City of Paris, W. A. Cawthon, be, and he is hereby authorized to enter into the proposed contract with the Texas Sta,te Department of Health Planni.ng Agency, Forrest and Cotton, Inc., and Marvin R. Springer & Associates, to prepare for the City of Paris the various phases and stages of the development of the comprehensive plan for the future development of the City of Paris, according to the terms and conditions of the preliminary contract hereby examined and accepted by the C ity of Pa ris .
