RESOLUTIGN NO. 994 WHEREAS, the City of Pa,ris, Texas holds Presentation No. 1413 from the State of Texas for a reservoir project on Sanders Creek, a tributary of the Red River in Lamar County, Texas; and, WHEREAS, investigations by the City of Paris under Presenta.tion No. 1413 show that the construction of a reservoir project on Sanders Creek is necessary and feasible for an additional water supply for the City of Paris and adjacent area; and, WHEREAS, the Corpe of Engineers, United States Army, has pre- pared a report on a multiple purpose reservoir on Sanders Creek at the Pat- Mayse Site, which would provide essentially the same water supply as contemplated by the City of Paris, and proposes to submit its report to the United 5tates Congresa to obtain authorization and funds for con- struction of the project; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris proposes to negotiate a contract with the Corps of Engineers for the water supply storage space to be included in the reservoir; and, WHEREAS, it is necessary that a water permit be obtained from the Texas Water Commission of the State of Texas to impound and appropriate public waters from the Pat Mayse Reservoir on Sanders Creek; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RE50LVED BY THE CITY" COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS: SECTZON 1. That the City Manager of the City of Paris, Texas, H. C. Kennemer, be, and he is hereby authorized to execute, and the City Clerk, H. C. Greene, be and ia hereby authorized to attest the application for water permit for the Pat Mayse Reservoir Project. SECTION 2. That the City Manager of the City of Paris, Texas is hereby directed to cause such application to be filed with the Texas Water Commission. Passed and adopted this 19th day of February, A.
