RESOLUTION NO. 989
<br />WHEREAS, the Industrial Committee of the Chamber of Commerce
<br />and members of The Pa.ris, Texa.s Industrial Foundation, Inc., have pre-
<br />sented to the City Council of the City of Paris certain plans for the de-
<br />velopment of properties acquired from the City of Paris, known as the
<br />Old Legion Airport, located off of 19th Street, N. W. ; and,
<br />WHEREAS, for the future development of said area it will be
<br />necessary to furnish water to various industria.l concerns for use in the
<br />area and also for the purpose of completi.ng water line loops with the de-
<br />velopment of the area, in the North West partion of the City of Paris; and,
<br />WHEREAS, it has been agreed between The Paris, Texas Taldustrial
<br />Foundation, Inc. and the City of Paris, at a special meeting of the City
<br />Council, on January 11, 1962, that in order to serve such area and to corn-
<br />plete said development and looping of water lines, to lay a twelve inch
<br />(1211) water line and a six inch (611) sewer line to a point 125 feet West of
<br />the West Boundary Line of properties belonging to the Mansfield Tire
<br />Company, in order to serve not only a recent industry whi.ch is about to
<br />begin construction, known as The Superior Switchboard & Devices Company,
<br />but other prospective industri.a.l users of water and sewage in the area; and,
<br />WF3EREAS, the Gity of Paris does not have sufficient funds in its
<br />budget for the year 1961-1962 to complete said water line; and,
<br />WHEREAS, The Pa.ris, Texa,s Industrial Foundation, Inc. and the City
<br />of Paris have agreed to purchase materials and fittings for a twelve inch
<br />(1211) water line and a si.x inch (611) sewer line, and The Paris, Texas
<br />Tndustrial Foundation, Inc. has proposed to pay one-half of the cost of the
<br />materials and fittings, and the City to pay one-half of the cost of said rna-
<br />terials and fittings, and the City to provide the labor and equipment and
<br />lay each of said lines, and The Paris, Texas Industrial Foundation, Inc.
<br />has agreed to pay all of the costs of materials upon receipt of invoices
<br />therefor, and the City of Paris proposes to reimburse The Paris, Texas
<br />7ridustrial Foundation, Znc. for one-half of said ma,terials on and following
<br />July 1, 1962, out of the budget year 1962-1963 funds; NOW, THEREFUR.E,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARI.S,
<br />That the City Manager, H. C. Kennemer, be, and he is hereby authorized
<br />and directed to order and purchase euch materials and lay said lines, at
<br />the earliest possible convenience, and to furnish the invoices to The Paris,
<br />Texas Industrial Foundation, Inc. for payment of such materials; the City
<br />to furnish the labor and equipment with which to lay said lines, and hereafter
<br />during the 1962-1963 budget, that the City Manager be authorized and
<br />directed to pay to The Paris, Texas Industrial Foundation, Inc., one-half of
<br />the cost of the materials and fittings for said lines.
