RESOLUTION NO, 949 , WHEREAS, the City of Faris is the owner of some 12 acres of land, located on the South Side of Clement Road, and formerly being a part of the City Abattoir property, and immedia.tely surrounding the tract of land belong- ing to the Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission, and being Lot 3 of City Block No. 281 of the City of Paris, Texa.s; and, WHEREAS, Ray Newberry has proposed to lease the same from the City of Pa.ris for grazing purpoaes; and, WHEREAS, the same is not now being used for any purpose by the City of Paris, and no imznediate proapects are in view for the use of the eame; and, WHEREAS, Ray Newberry agrees to fence the area and to pay therefor the sum of $50.00 per year for grazing purposes, payable each year in ad- vance, and with the understanding and agreement that if at any time the City of Paris requires the use of said land for any purpose other than for grazing purposes, then the lease may be cancelled by giving thirty (301, days notice in writing to the Lessee and returning to him any unused portion of the rental fee which has been paid, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCLL QF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, That the City 1Wlanager, H. C. Kennemer, be, and he is hereby au- thorized to execute a lease for a term of five (5)- years to Ray Newberry, for the sum of $50.00 per year, payable in advance, to the above described pro- perty, said lease to be drawn in accordance with the conditions of this resolu- tion.
