DRAFT LISA~RESOLUTIONS\CURRENT\ September 13, 2001 RESOLUTION NO. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, DECLARING CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY SURPLUS; APPROVING AN AUCTIONEER SERVICE AGREEMENT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the several departments of the City of Paris have furnished the list of personal property, attached hereto as Exhibit A, which no longer serves a useful purpose for the City of Paris and its operation, and it would be appropriate that said personal property be declared surplus property; and, WHEREAS, it would be appropriate to dispose of said surplus property by auction duly advertised and conducted by Reggie McDowra Auctioneer Service, Texas Auctioneer License AUCTNR00011499, which firm has heretofore been approved for use by State of Texas agencies; and, WHEREAS the form of the Auctioneer Service Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit B, should, in all things, be approved, and the Mayor should be authorized to execute the same; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the personal property described in Exhibit A, attached hereto, be, and the same is hereby, declared to be surplus property of the City of Paris, and the same may be disposed of in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas and the Charter of the City of Paris. Section 3. That the form of the Auctioneer Service Agreement with Reggie McDowra Auctioneer Service, attached hereto as Exhibit B, be, and the same is hereby, approved. Section 4. That the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, the Auctioneer Service Agreement with Reggie McDowra Auctioneer Service, under the terms and conditions and in the form shown in Exhibit B, attached hereto. Section 5. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
