• • <br />RE50LUTION NO, 907 0 <br />WHEREAS, the Lamar County Water Control and Improvement <br />District No. 3, being a soil consErvation and flood control project under <br />Public Law 566, is engaging in a soil conservation and water control <br />program on the waters of Pine Creek in Lamar County, Texas; and, <br />WHEREAS, a portion of said water control and improvement project <br />on Pine Creek is in the Water Shed of Lake Crook, belonging to the City <br />of Paris, and from which the City of Pa.ris secures its present water <br />aupply; and, <br />WHER.EAS, the City of Paris is interested in increasing its avail- <br />able water supply for residential, commercial and industrial growth and <br />expansion; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris anticipates that in the future it will be <br />necessary to secure such additional water supply for City purposes; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary to make certain surveys on the part of <br />said Water Control and Improvement District to determine the arnount of <br />water available consistent with the program under Public Law No. 566; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris has an interest in determining the <br />amount of water, after proper survey and engineering, tha,t ma,y be im- <br />pounded within usable distance from the Paria Water Treatment and <br />Transmission Plant; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />That said City does hereby express its interest in said project, with the <br />view in the future of procuring water from such impounded structures, if <br />and when the City of Paris determines that the same is feasible and is <br />necessary and profitable, and that the City of Paris, after so determini.ng, <br />may in the future desire to obtain such water on a proportionate cost <br />basis of the structures from which said water would be obta.ined. Pro- <br />vided, however, tha.t the City of Paris reserves the right to determine <br />whether or not it is feasible to purchase such water and to use such <br />water, and that the City of Paris will be the sole judge as to whether it <br />desires to exercise its right to purchase such water under auch terms and <br />conditions. <br />Passed and adopted this 14th day of March, A.
