','IHEREAa, by Resolution No. 789 ,adopted on thel4th day of !1pri1, 1958, the City Council designated the I ' Jest Shernlan Lrban i;cneti^ral Area in the City of Paris as a slum, blighted, deteriorated or deteriorating area appropriate for an urban renewal project and authorized the undertaking of surveys and plans for an urban renewal project in such area; and, "JI'.EREAS9 it is the purpose and intention of the City Council to take such aclllion as may be appropriate and necessary in order to make available to the City of Paris the powers vnsted in the cities of Texas by the provisions of H.B. 70, enacted by the Fifty-Fa.fth Texas Legislature, includiM the holding of the local referendum election provided in and by Sections 5 and 16(G) of said Act as soon as and at such time as may appear most feasible. 1 THEREFJRE, BL IT ncSGLVED i1' l i-E CIT'I Cr'.iUivCIL 0!'
