♦ <br />• • <br />• <br />RESOLUTION N0. 732 . <br />PJHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, several months prior <br />to this date, requested the Soil Conservation Service of the U. S. Department <br />of Agriculture, by contacting its local Soil Conservation Unit, through <br />PAarshall H. Nichols, and also through J. S. Sharp, a Director in the Staite <br />Soil Conservation Service of the State of Texas, to make a sedimentation <br />survey on the two lakes belonging to the City of Paris, namely, Lake Crook <br />and Lake Gibbons; and, <br />4VHEREAS9 such survey has been completed on both of said lakes k>y the <br />U. S. Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service; and, <br />WHEREAS, at the regular meeting of the City Council on August 1.2, <br />A. D., 1957, Mr. J. S. Sharp, on behalf of the Soil Conservation ServicE? <br />of the Department of Agriculture, appeared before the City Council of the <br />City of Paris and presented to it the wr;.tten report of the Soil Conservation <br />Service of the Department4of Agriculture and called attention to a number of <br />significant facts contained in such report; and, <br />WHEREt1S, the report is of much value to the City of Paris in making <br />plans for future water supply, and will be of much service to the City of <br />Paris in such connection; NO'N, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLUED BY THE CITY COUNClL OF THE CITY CF PARIS, That i;he <br />City of Paris does hereby express its appreciation and gratitude to Pv1r. <br />J. S. Sharp and Marshall H. Nichols, and to all of those who had a part or <br />portion in the preparation ef such sedimentation report, and the City oi= <br />Paris, by this resolution, does so express its gratitude and appreciation <br />to the Soil Conservation Service of the U. S. Department of Agriculture <br />and to all those in connection therewith, who have caused to be made and <br />have made such a thorough and complete sedimentation report of Lake Crook <br />and of Lake Gibbons for and on behalf of the City of Paris. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESGLVED that a copy of this resolution be furni:shed <br />to the Soil Conservation Service, U. S. Department of Agriculture at Temple, <br />Texas, to the local Soil Conservation Unit in Lamar County, and to J. S„ <br />Sharp. <br />Passed and adopted this 12th day of August, A.
