<br />RESOLUTION N0. 699 .
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has
<br />heretofore advertised for bidst to be received at 7:00 otclock P.M.
<br />on April 8, A. D., 1957, in the Council Room at the City Hall of
<br />the City of Paris, on Project No. 803-3-57, portions of the Water
<br />and Sewer Distribution Project; and,
<br />WHEREAS, there was received several bids on the 8th
<br />day of April, A. D., 1957 for Schedules I, II, and III of said
<br />Project No. 803-3-57; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the City Council has referred said bids to
<br />the Consulting Engineers, Forrest and Cotton; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the Consulting Engineers, Forrest and Cotton,
<br />have advised the Council that the base bid on Schedules I, II, and
<br />TII of Project No. 803-3-57 of the Stimson Contracting Company,
<br />a corporation, of Dallas, Texas, which bid totalled the sum of
<br />$443,740.75, is the lowest and best bid; and,
<br />WI-EREAS, the Engineering Firm of Forrest and Cotton has
<br />determined that said bidder is responsible, and that the same is
<br />the lowest and best bid for said project; NOW, THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CDUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS,
<br />That the bid of Stimson Contracting Company, a corporation, of Dallas,
<br />Texas, on the total of Schedules I, II, and III of Project No.
<br />803-3-57, in the amount of $443,740.75, be, and the same is hereby
<br />declared the lowest and best bid for said project.
<br />BE IT FURTHER RE80LVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TI-iE CITY
<br />OF PARIS, That the bid of Stimson Contracting Company, a corporation,
<br />in the amount aforesaid be, and the same is hereby accepted, upon
<br />the bidder entering into the necessary contract, according to the
<br />plans and specifications for said project, and posting a good and
<br />sufficient performance bond, and that the Mayor, James R. Gill, be,
<br />and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Stimson
<br />Contracting Company, a corporation, for the completion of such
<br />project for the aforesaid sum.
<br />Passed and adopted this 15th day of April, A. D., 1957.
