• <br />• <br />RESOLUTION N0. 696 <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has heretofore <br />decided to purchase an accounting and billing machine, to be used by the <br />Water Department of the City of Paris in keeping the records and making <br />out the monthly water bills; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris has heretofore <br />caused notice to be published in the Paris News for the required length <br />of time of its intention to receive bids on the purchase of such machine; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the bids were received and were opened by the City <br />Council at its regular session on this date; and, <br />WHEREAS, the National Cash Register Company of Dayton, Ohio bid <br />the sum of $4,550.00, the Burroughs Corporation of Detroit, Michigan bid <br />the sum of $3,594.60; and, <br />WHEREAS, it appears that the Burroughs Corporation is the lowest <br />and best bidder for the sale of such machine; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY ODUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />That the bid of Burroughs Corporation, in the amounz of $3,594.60, be, and <br />the same is hereby declared the lowest and best bid, and the City Manager <br />of the City of Paris is hereby authorized to purchase said machine at said <br />price and to issue a warrant drawn on the account of the City of Paris in <br />payment thereof. <br />Passed and adopted this 8th day of April, A.
