658 RES CITY COUNCIL AUTHORIZED LAYING OF 8" WATER LINE

• • RESOL,UTION No. 65$ , WHEREAS, heretofore, the City Couneil did authorize the laying of a eight inch water line on 30th Street, N. E. in the City of Paris as fullp described in specifications on Project No. $03-10-56; and, WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Paris was authorized and directed to advertise for bids for the completion of said project; and, WHEREAS, said City Manager did advertise for and receive bids upon said project; and, WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of Public Works have advised the Council that the bids as submitted by the regpective contractors are out of line, in that the sarne ar.e too high for such work; and, WHEREAS, it has been recomnended by the City Manager and the Director of Public Works that the bids received all be re- jected; and, WHEREAS, the City Manager and the Director of Public Works have proposed to the Council that they complete said pro- ject by the construction crew oiAl-00 e City of Paris on a fo.rce account basis, and that some can be saved in the com- pletion of such project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CIT'Y OF PARIS, That the bids afore received on Project BTo. $03-10-56 be, and the same are hereby rejected, and that the City Manager is hereby directed to complete sueh project on a force account basis and to do whatever acts or things necessary to the com- pletion of such project.
