629 RES TAXICAB FRANCHISE ORD NO 1368 ETC GRANTED FRANCHISE TO OPERATE FOR 5 YEARS

0 0 RESOLUTION ND. 629 . WHEREAS, heretoforep by Taxicab Franchise Ordinance No. 1368, effective March 1. 1956, the City Council of the City of Paris granted to Joe P. Skidtta res d/b/a Yellow Cab Company, a franchise to operate in the City of Paris a fleet of taxicabs for a term of five (5) years; and, WI-EREAS, by Taxicab Franchise Ordinance No. 1369, effective on such date of March 1, 1956, the City Council of the City of Paris granted to Max Miller and Roy Hughesg d/b/a Red Star Cab Company, a like franchise to operate a fleet of taxicabs in the City of Paris for a like term of five (5) years; and, WI-IEREAS, by transfers approved by the City Obuncil said taxi- cab franchise originally granted to Max Miller and Roy Hughes was thereafter transferred and assigned to W. Nolan Collins, d/b/a Red Star Cab Company; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has been informed of the transfer of said taxicab franchise by the said W. Nolan Collins to Joe P. Skidmore, incident to which transfer and assignment the said Joe P. Skidmore has made known to the Ci.ty Council his desire to surrender for cancellation the franchise rights granted to the said Red Star Cab Cornpany under Taxicab Franchise Ordinance No. 1369, it being the purpose, intent and desire of the said Joe P. Skidmore to combine the operation of both fleets of taxicabs in the operation of a taxicab business in the City of Paris under the assumed name of Yellow Cab Company, with a fleet of fifteen (15) taxicabsg which proposal and plan the GYty is requested to approve and confirm; NOW, THERERORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TI-E CITY OJUNCIL, That the hervinabove mentioned transfer and assigrunent of the Red Star Cab Company to the said Joe P. Skidmore, d/b/a Yellow Cab Company, be, and the same is hereby approved; the surrender of the said Red Star Cab Company franchise by the said .7oe P. Skidmore for cancellation is approved and the same is hereby cancelled so that all rights and privileges granted under 5aid taxicab franchise Ordinance No. 1369 are hereby cancelled, revoked and held for naught, and the said Joe P. Skidmore, d/b/a Yellow Cab Company, is hereby authorized and directed to operate under the assumed name of Yellow Cab Company a fleet of fifteen (15) taxicabs in accordance with the terms and provisions of Taxicab Franchise Ordinance No. 1368.
