MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> SEPTEMBER 6, 2001 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session Thursday, <br />September 6, 2001, 6:00 P. M., Paris Junior College, Applied Technology <br />Building, Room 1016, 2400 Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas. Mayor <br />Michael J. Pfiester called the meeting to order with the following Council <br />Members present: John F. Bell, Joe E. McCarthy, Richard Manning, <br />Kevin Gray, and Benny Plata. Also present were City Manager Michael <br />E. Malone, City Attorney Larry W. Schenk, and City Clerk Mattie <br />Cunningham. <br /> <br />Invocation was given by Gene Anderson, Director of Finance for the City <br />of Paris. <br /> <br />City Manager Malone presented the minutes of the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission's meeting for September 4, 2001, and is here attached to these <br />minutes as Exhibit A. <br /> <br />Mayor Pfiester declared the public hearing open to consider the petition of Jean <br />Townsdin for a change in zoning from a One-Family Dwelling District No. 2 <br />(SF-2) to a Multiple-Family Dwelling District No. 1 (MF01) on Lot 2, City <br />Block 255-A, being number 2551 E. Price Street. <br /> <br />Mayor Pfiester called for proponents to appear, and Jean Townsdin, 310 S. E. <br />26th Street, appeared before the City Council in behalf of her petition. Ms. <br />Townsdin said she sold this property to Mr. Brad Bullard, who was also <br />present. <br /> <br />Brad Bullard, Route 2, Box 188, Sumner, Texas, came forward telling the City <br />Council that he recently purchased this lot and that it is his plan to build <br />duplexes on the property. <br /> <br />Mayor Pfiester called for opponents to appear, none appeared, and the public <br />hearing was declared closed. <br /> <br /> <br />
