RE50I.UTION N0. 592 . <br />WHEREAS, the citizenship of Paris are peculiarly indebted <br />to Morgan P. Johnson because of his unselfish and effective ser- <br />vice for them as a member of numerous municipal advisory and ser- <br />vice boards and commissions over a period of many years, and more <br />especially because of his ready response at great personal sacri- <br />fice to the call of his city for service and help on two occasions <br />during recent years in the capacity of temporary manager of its <br />municipal affairs, the most recent term of which service ended on <br />July 4, 1955; and, <br />WHEREAS, the said Morgan P. Johnson has endeared himself <br />to the hearts of a11 of us as a successful busines5 man, whose <br />life has been committed and dedicated to the welfare and service <br />of his city, his community, his country and his fellow citizens; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, every sacrificial act and service rendered to <br />his city and community by the said Morgan P. Johnson has been <br />characterized by his Godly, patient, understanding and lovable <br />personality; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is the sincere purpose and desire of the <br />governing body of the City of Paris to express as adequately as <br />possible the heart-felt thanks and appreciation from each member <br />thereof for the experienced and effective services rendered by <br />our friend and fellow citizen in the indicated capacities, and to <br />express our personal admiration and respect for him as a civic <br />minded, public spirited, effective and successful leader and ser- <br />vant of man, worthy of emu].ation by alls <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CiTY ODUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, in Regular Session Convened on this 8th day <br />of August, 1955, that this expression of our thanks and apprecia- <br />tion for the services rendered to his city by Morgan P. Johnson <br />be adopted, that this resolution be spread on the permanent <br />minutes of the meetings of the Paris City Council and a copy of <br />the same shall be handed to him. <br />Adopted by the unanimous vote of the City Council on the <br />8th day of August, 1955. <br />yor of the City of.
