• • <br />RES OLiJT I ON N0. 541 . <br />VJHEREAS, by a resolution heretofore passed by the City Council of the <br />City of Paris, all that portion of the following streets: <br />(1) Washington Street from the Wsst boundar,y line of 7th Street <br />Southwest, 'v'iest to a paint 780 feet W9St of such 'lTest boundary <br />line of said 7th Straet Southwast; <br />(2) Fitzhugh Avenue Between Hickory Street and Blake Road; <br />(3) 8th Street fiortheast between Hickory Street and Blake Road; <br />(4) Blake Road from its intersection with Fitzhugh Avenue, 1Vest <br />a distance of 444 feet; <br />(5) Hickory Streot from its intersection with Fitzhugh Avenue, <br />'Nest to its intersection with 8th Street Yortheast, <br />shall be improved in the followi.no mnner, to-wit: <br />(1)That said streets sha.ll be cut and filled so as to bring the <br />same to grade; <br />(2) That said streets shall be paved from curb to curb with 6-inch, <br />soil-asphalt base and single asphaltic surface treatmant; <br />(3) ThrLt concrete curbs and ;utterb bhall be constructed ulong both <br />sidas of the paved portions of said streets; and, <br />V~i~RF,AS, by the terms of said resolution, specifications were ordered <br />to be made by the Director of Public ','vorks for the improvement of said <br />streets, as provided by said resolution; and, <br />+14HEREAS, the said specifications have been prepared and are naw submitted <br />to the City Council for approval and adoption; N0',v, THEER FORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY CQUNCIL OF TNE CITY OF PARIS: <br />SECTICJN L. Thai; ths Specifications so presented to the City Council of the <br />Ci~y of Paris by the Director of Public "Uorks and prepared by him for the <br />impi°ovement of' said streets enumerated above, as hereinbefore def'ined, having <br />been carefully considerad by t~B City Council, be, ana the same are hereby <br />approved ana adopted as the specifications for the improvement of said streets. <br />SECTICIN 2. That the City Clerk be, and he is hereb,y, instructed to advertise <br />or sea ed bids for the construction of the curbs and ;utters called for by <br />this resolution, such advertisement for bids to be published in the Paris <br />Yews, the official publication of the Cit,y of Paris, which is a newspaper of <br />general circulaiion in the Cit,y of Pz,ris. The said advertibement shall be <br />published once a week for two conseeutive weeks und tne bids shall be received <br />at least fourteen(14) days after the time and date of the first such weekly <br />publication. All bids shall be received subject to the terms and provisions <br />of the Charter of the City of Paris, and sYall be filed with the City Clerk <br />on the date and hour specified and shall be opened and read in the presence <br />of the Council in a public meeting of the City Council. <br />SECTICZt 3. The City Council, in initiatin~ this proceeding, is actin, under <br />e rms and provisions of the Aot passed at the First Called Session of the <br />Fortieth I,egislature of the State of Texas, and lrnawn as Chapter 106 of the <br />Acts of said Session, together with any amendments thereto, novr shawn as <br />Qrticle 1105b of Vernon+s Texas Civil Statutes, which said law, as an alterna- <br />. <br />
