575 RES BY WRITTEN INSTRUMENT DATED MARCH 7 1950 COP AND HOUSING AUTHORITY ENTERED INTO CERTAIN COOPERATION AGREEMENT

• • RESOLUTION N0. 575 0 WHEREAS, heretoforeg by written instrument dated March 7, 1950, the City of Paris, a municipal corporationg and the Housing Authority of the City of Paris$ Texas, made and entered into a certain cooperation agrgement relative to the construction, maintenanCe and operation of certain public housing projects in the City of Paris pursuant to the United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended, which said cooperation agreement specified and pro- vided among other things, that said Housing Authority of the City of Paris should make specified "annual payments in lieu of taxes and special assess- ments for public services and facilities furnished for or with respect to such project"', and which agreement further provided that the City of Paris should ",distribute the payment in lieu of taxes between the following taxing bodies, to wit; The Citv of Paris, Texas and The Paris Independent School District and in the proportion which the real property taxes which would have been paid to the above taxing body for such year if the project were not exempt from taxation",; and, WHEREAS9 it appears that by mutual mistake of the parties to such contract the lawfully existing taxing body "'Paris Junior College District", was omitted from the list of taxing bodies to receive pro rata distribution of such "payments in lieu of taxes",. NOWv TI-IEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TI-lE CITY CAUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, That an amendment of and to said above mentioned cooperation agree- ment, dated March 79 1950, beg and the same is hereby, authorized and approved so that the same shall hereafter provide and specify substantially that the City of Paris "%hall distribute the payments in lieu of taxes be- tween the following taxing bodiesg to-wits The City of Paris, Texas and The Paris Independent School District and Paris Junior College District"` in the same proportion, means and manner as specified and provided in said original cooperation agreement. Be it further resolved that the Mayor of the City of Paris is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City of Paris a written amendment to such original cooperation agreement to incorporate the provisions of this resolution.
