0 • <br />PMoLuTzorl No. 499 <br />W-IERF,AS, the traffic control and signal system of the City of <br />Paris, regulating and controling vehicular t:~affie upon the pla,za <br />and adjacent streets thereto, has become out of repair and in such <br />bad condit,ion that such systean can no longer be safely used unless <br />new controls, lines, signals and other items necessaril,y incident <br />thereto are purchased and installed; and <br />Because of the traffics hazard existing by reason of the un- <br />safe and unuseable condition of such system it has become necessary <br />for the City of Paris to immediately purchase and instalZ sufficieilt <br />new lines, controls and equipment to place such system in condition <br />to adequatel,y and properl,y regulate and control vehicular and <br />pedestrian traffic with safety in the City of Paris; and <br />Wi"r,REASj, the original budget appropriation for the current <br />fiscal year did not provide sufficient funds for the purchase and <br />installation of the equipment needed to effect necessary repairs <br />thereto and there are not sufficient funds on hand in the budget <br />account set up for such matters, but there is on hand in the con- <br />tingent fund an unappropriated and unencumbered balance in excess <br />of the amount necessary for such purposes and the circumstances <br />herein set out constitute an emergency ~'ave public necessity <br />7~ <br />requiring immediate correction, whi.ch <br />'i~as not reasonab],y fore- <br />seeable when the cvrrent budget was adopted; now therefore <br />BE IT RESOLVED SY THE CITY COUNCIL Or THE CITY 0F F=ARIS; <br />1. That the sum of $3,6$5.36 be transferred from the conti.n- <br />gent fund f,o Budget Account No. 410 - Z- 7(public 1ighting., <br />capital outlay., equipment) for the purpose of purchasing and in- <br />stalling adequate equipment for the traffic signal system of the <br />City of Paris. <br />2.
