• <br />R E S 0 L U T I 0 N <br />A RESOLUTION ORD-RING AN ELELTION to be held between the hours of 8:00 A.M. <br />and 6:00 P.M. on the 13th day of July, 1948, by the qualified voters of the City of <br />Paria for the purpose of electing a City Recorder for the unexpired term ending on <br />the First Tuesday in April,, 1949, and DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS that an election be <br />held by the qualified voters of the City of Paris between the hours of 8:00 A. M. <br />and 6s00 P. M. on the 13th day of July, 1948, for the purpose of electing a City <br />Recorder to serve the unexpired term ending on the First Tuesday in April, 1949. <br />The polling pla.ces and preaiding officers of the election shall be respec- <br />tively as follows: <br />WARD 1: Central Fire Station <br />WARD 2: Grand Hotel <br />wARn 3: county courthouse <br />WARD 4: Paris High School <br />• <br />NO , - <br />H. G. Armstrong, Presiding Officer <br />Mrs.Hu.gh Collins,Presiding Officer <br />Don Wair, Presiding Officer <br />Joe Hillhouse, Presiding Officer <br />The Mayor is instructed to give thirty days notice of said election by poating <br />notices at each polling place for that period of time and publishing a simi.lar notice <br />in the official paper, the Paris News, a paper of general circulation in the City of <br />Paris, Texa.s. <br />The election to be held in accordance with the general election laws of the <br />State of Texas insofar as same are applicable and not in conflict with the provisions <br />of the City Charter. <br />The faet that a vacancy by reason of death has occurred in the office of City <br />Recorder creates an emergency requiring that the rules and Charter Provisions prohibiting <br />the passage of a resolution at the meeting intrnduced and requiring submission of same <br />to a commi.ttee be suspended and the same is acaordingly done, and this resolution ahA1l <br />take effect from arid after its passage. <br />PASSED June 4, 1948. <br />athan J. 11, Jr., or of the 9ity of <br />Paris, Texa.s <br />~ <br />Ayesj_. <br />Nayes 0 . <br />Attest: <br />Hatley B.
