/ <br />A/ <br />RESOLUTION NO.~~ ` " <br />A RESOLU'r'ICN ORDERING AN ELECTION to be held between the hours of <br />8; A.M. and 6:00 P.M. on the lSth day of June, 1946, by the qualifiad <br />voters of the City of Paris for the purpose of electing a City Secre- <br />tary to fill the vacan cy occasioned by the resign ation of J.A. Binnion, <br />ending on the first Tuesday in April, 1947 and DECLARING AN EDIERGENCY. <br />Be it RESOLVED SY 'I'HE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS tha.t an elect- <br />ion be held by the qualified voters of the City of Paris between the <br />hours of 8:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.N. on the 18th day of June, 1946, for <br />the purpose of electing a City Secretary to fill the vacancy occasioned <br />by the resignation of J.A. Binnion, ending on the first Tuesda.y in <br />April, 1947. <br />The Polling places and presiding officers of the election shall be re- <br />spectively as follows: <br />Ward <br />1: <br />Central Fire Station <br />Jack Bankhead, Presiding Off~cer <br />Ward <br />2: <br />Grand Hotel <br />T.C. Hodges, <br />n +f <br />Ward <br />3: <br />County Courthouse <br />J.M. Brasvaell, <br />Ward <br />4: <br />Paris High School <br />Gilbert Cecil, <br />The Nayor is instructed to give thirty days notice of said election by <br />posting notices at each polling place f or that period of time and pub- <br />lishing similar notice in the Paris News, a paper of general circula.t- <br />ion in the City of Paris, Texas. <br />The election to be held in accordance with the general election la.ws <br />of the State of Texas insofar as same are applicable and not in con- <br />flict with the provisions of the City Charter. <br />The fact tha.t the City Secretary's office is now vacant and the busi- <br />ness of said office is pressing, creates a public emergency requiring <br />that rules and charter provisions prohiriting passage of a resolution <br />at the meeting-introduced and raquiring submission of same to a com- <br />mittee be suspended and the same is accord.ingly done, and this resolut- <br />ion takes effect from and after its passage. <br />PASSED MAY 13th, 1946. <br />~ ° <br />nn on, viayor o t ty of <br />• Paris, Texas. <br />Aye s~,_. . <br />Nayes . <br />t t~ t; <br />3~f <br />. . o ood, Acting <br />City Secretarp. <br />
