Library' Advisory Board <br />October 17, 2001 <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIBRARY <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br /> October 17, 2001 <br /> <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session <br />Wednesday, October 17, 2001, at 4:00 PM in the Library with Chairman <br />Nancee Salzman presiding. The following members were present: Peggy <br />Guthrie, Anna Davis, Nancee Salzman, ¥ickie Terlap, Walter Williams, <br />Keith Williamson, Callie Thompson, Friends President and Betty Landon, <br />Library Director. Not attending were Sarah Gambill, John Ho~vison, and <br />Fran Neeley. <br /> <br />The September 19, 2001 minutes were approved. <br /> <br />Nancee Salzman welcomed Keith Williamson as a new board member. No <br />budget report was available. However, Betty stated the library was under <br />budget overall, especially, on books. <br /> <br />The September Statistical Report showed a decrease in circulation. <br />However, the 2000-2001 report showed that circulation increased 3.5% <br />over the previous year. Betty stated that 60% of circulation was books. <br /> <br />Children's Services showed that 13 programs were held with 263 children <br />attending and 97 adults. Emily Kirkland attended a workshop at the South <br />Garland Branch on Resource Sharing and came back with some great new <br />ideas. She also attended a NETLS workshop at Seven Points. One Boy <br />Scout earned a merit badge volunteering for the Children's Services. <br /> <br />In the Adult Outreach program, there were 45 interlibrary loans. <br />Programs were presented at Sterling House and Paris Oaks, with 33 people <br />attending. 1168 books were circulated, 377 videos, 330 audios. September <br />had $390.00 given in memorials. <br /> <br />There was no unfinished or new business. <br /> <br /> <br />
