A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 2001-184; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A NEW PURCHASE ORDER FOR ONE (1) AMBULANCE THROUGH THE HOUSTON-GALVESTON AREA COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS; PROVIDING FOR FUNDING IN LIEU OF TRADE-IN; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, did heretofore, on the 12th day of November, 2001, in Resolution No. 2001-184, authorize and direct the City Manager to execute a purchase order for one (1) 2002 Ford F350 Type 1 Ambulance for a net purchase price of $72,220.95, which represents a base price for the ambulance of $86,300.00, plus a Houston- Galveston Area Council of Governments administrative fee of $1,423.95, less $15,503.00, which is the value of the City's trade-in, surplus obsolete vehicle, designated Medic 4; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has determined a public purpose in transferring ownership of Medic 4 to the Lamar County Chapter ofthe American Red Cross, and as a consequence, the trade-in value of the transferred vehicle will not be available to the City as part of the payment for the new ambulance; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that said ResolutionNo. 2001-184 be repealed and that the City Manager be authorized to execute a new purchase order for one (1) 2002 Ford F350 Type 1 Ambulance for a total purchase price of $87,723.95, which represents a base price for the ambulance of $86,300.00, plus a Houston-Galveston Area Council of Governments administrative fee of $1,423.95; and, WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate that, in lieu of the value of the surplus vehicle for trade-in purposes, the City Council authorize funds to be expended from City Council Account #01-1004-11-99 in the amount of $15,503.00; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved.
