DRAFT <br />J:\Attorney\Lisa\Resolutions\CiJRRENT\Civil Service 12-01.wpd <br />December 6, 2001 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, REAPPOINTING MELBA HARRIS AS A MEMBER OF <br />THE FIRE FIGHTERS' AND POLICE OFFICERS' CIVIL SERVICE <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARIS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the term of office of Melba Harris, as a member of the Fire Fighters' and <br />Police Officers' Civil Service Commission of the City of Paris, will expire on December 31, <br />2001; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager of the City of Paris, Michael E. Malone, in accordance <br />with the authority granted in Section 143.006(b) ofthe Local Government Code, has reappointed <br />Melba Harris for a term of three (3) years, beginning January 1, 2002, and ending December 31, <br />2004, and has submitted the name of such person to the City Council for confirmation; NOW, <br />THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br />Section 2. That the reappointment of Melba Harris, as a member of the Fire Fighters' and <br />Police Officers' Civil Service Commission ofthe City ofParis, for a term of three (3) years, beginning <br />January 1, 2002, and ending December 31, 2004, be, and the same is hereby, confirmed. <br />Section 3. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. <br />PASSED AND APPROVED this lOth day of December, 2001. <br />Michael J.
