Proposition List <br />The following is a summary of the proposed CIP projects, ]isted im <br />the same order they will appear on the election ballot. For more <br />information, contact the City Manager's Office or the Community <br />Development Department at (972) 727-0100 or E-mail to <br />coa@cr. allen. tx. us. <br />Proposition L• ' <br />POLICE AND COURTS <br />Cost: $3,600,000 <br />The current Police and Municipal Court Building was constructed' <br />with 1985 bond £unds and measures 16,500 sq. ft. Additional staff <br />needed to deal with the level of growth within the city has over- ' <br />crowded the facility. The proposed project wouid add a second <br />story to the existing facility and a single-story wing on the south- <br />em end of the facility. <br />The new wing, which will total 5,200 sq. ft., will house the Mu- <br />nicipal Court during the next five years. Eventually, the Municipal <br />Court will have to move into another facility to accommodate the <br />City's maximum population capacity, which would leave the new <br />wing for further expansion of the Police Department. <br />Proposition 2 <br />FII2E FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT <br />Cost: $4,900,000 <br />The rapid growth and development of the City of Allen has in- <br />creased the need to construct and equip a fifth fire station and re- <br />]ocate the cunent Central Fire Station.
