� <br />ORDINANCE NO. 88-054 <br />� <br />AN ORDINANCE �F THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, <br />PROVIDING THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, BE <br />AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 21-10 OF SAID CODE; PROVIDING <br />FOR AN INCREASE IN THE AMOUNT OF REWARD AND EXPANDING THE <br />SCOPE TO INCLUDE VANDALISM TO CITY PROPERTY; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JANUARY 1, 1989. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS: <br />Section 1. That Section 21-10 of the Code of <br />Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, be amended so <br />that such shall read as follows: <br />"Sec. 21-10 Reward for arrest and conviction <br />for theft of City property. <br />The City hereby offers a reward of up to one <br />thousand dollars ($1,000.00) to any person supply- <br />ing information or evidence which results in the <br />arrest and conviction of any person found guilty <br />of committing the offense of theft or vandalism of <br />City property. This reward is a standing offer <br />and shall be paid out of the general fund of the <br />City. The amount of the reward to b� paid in each <br />case is to be determined by a committee composed <br />of the director of finance, chief of police, and <br />city attorney. Members of the city's police <br />department, members of the city's fire department <br />with assigned responsibility for arson <br />investigation, department heads and division heads <br />are not eligible to receive the reward herein <br />established." <br />Section 2. <br />conflict herewith <br />Section 3. <br />January l, 1989. <br />All ordinances or parts of ordinances in <br />are hereby expressly repealed. <br />This ordinance shall become effective on <br />Passed and adopted this <br />ATTEST: <br />Mattie Cunningham, City lerk <br />APPROVED AS O FORM: <br />/� <br />- .
