DRAFT <br />G:\Attorney\ALICE\RESWORK\CURRENT\Alley Clsg Bonham-13th NW to 14th NW Hrg-P&Z Res.wpd <br />December 3, 2001 <br />RESOLUTION NO. _______________ <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, REFERRING A PETITION T O THE PLANNING AND <br />ZONING CO MMISSION REQUESTING THE ABANDONMENT OF A <br />TWENTY (20) FOOT ALLEY BEGINNING AT THE WEST BOUNDARY <br />LINE OF 13TH STREET N.W. GOING WEST TO THE EAST BOUNDARY <br />LINE OF 14TH STREET N.W. LOCATED BETWEEN BONHAM STREET <br />(U.S. HWY 82) AND MAPLE AVENUE IN CITY BLOCK 189, SUBJECT TO <br />AND RESERVING THEREON A PERP ETUAL TWENTY (20) FOOT <br />UTILITY AND DRAINAGE EASEMENT; SETTING PUBLIC HEARINGS; <br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE <br />SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City Council of the City of Paris is in receipt of a petition from adjacent <br />property owners requesting that the twenty (20) foot alley be abandoned from 13th Street N.W. <br />west to the east boundary line of 14th Street N.W. located between Bonham Street (U.S. Hwy. <br />82) and Maple Avenue; and, <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City Engineer of the City of Paris has recommended the abandonment <br />of said alley, subject to the reservation of a perpetual twenty (20) foot wide utility and drainage <br />easement thereon; and, <br />WHEREAS, <br /> it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Par is that such <br />request for alley abandonment be reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City <br />of Paris and that a recommendation be made to the City Council for final action; and, <br />WHEREAS, <br /> it is fitting and proper that a public hearing be set before the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission at 5:30 p.m. on the 7th day of January, 2002, and before the City Council <br />at 6:00 p.m. on the 10th day of January, 2002, in the Paris Junior College Applied Technology <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br />Building, Room 1016, 2400 Clarksville Street, Paris, Texas; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br />Section 1. <br /> That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />Section 2. <br /> That the matter of abandoning the twenty (20) foot alley from 13th Street <br />N.W. west to the east boundary line of 14th Street N.W. between Bonham Street (U.S. Hwy <br />82) and Maple Avenue, subject to and reserving thereon a perpetual twenty (20) foot utility and <br />
