Ms. Montgomery said she did not want two family dwellings <br />in front of her home. She pointed out that if the duplexes were built that <br />means 10 buildings, 20 units, and 40 cars. Ms. Montgomery said they were <br />just trying to protect their property. <br />No one else appeared, and the public hearing was declared closed. <br />Mayor Pfiester called for consideration and action on an ordinance amending <br />Zoning Ordinance No.1710, changing the zoning from an Agricultural District <br />(A) to a Two-Family Dwelling District (2F) on Lot 8, City Block 318. <br />After discussion, a motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Manning to deny the <br />rezoning of Lot 8, City Block 318. The motion was seconded by Councilman <br />Bell, and carried 5 ayes 1 nay, Councilman Plata voting no. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2000-047 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NUMBER 85-026 WHICH AMENDED <br />ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BY <br />REVISING SECTION 2 OF SAID ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR THE APPROVAL <br />OF A SITE PLAN FOR LOT 1, CITY BLOCK 319; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS <br />AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF NOVEMBER 1, 2000, WAS PRESENTED. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Plata, for <br />adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, <br />for approval of the Final Plat of Briarwood II, subject to the requirements of the <br />City Engineer. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />There being no further business, a motion was made by Councilman McCarthy, <br />seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Manning, to adjourn the meeting. The motion <br />carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
