City Council Meeting October 5, 2000 Page 3 neighborhood. Ms. Montgomery presented pictures of the flooding problem on Center Street. Ms. Montgomery said she did not want two family dwellings in front of her home. She pointed out that if the duplexes were built that means 10 buildings, 20 units, and 40 cars. Ms. Montgomery said they were just trying to protect their property. No one else appeared, and the public hearing was declared closed. Mayor Pfiester called for consideration and action on an ordinance amending Zoning Ordinance No.1710, changing the zoning from an Agricultural District (A) to a Two-Family Dwelling District (2F) on Lot 8, City Block 318. After discussion, a motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Manning to deny the rezoning of Lot 8, City Block 318. The motion was seconded by Councilman Bell, and carried 5 ayes 1 nay, Councilman Plata voting no. ORDINANCE NO. 2000-047 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NUMBER 85-026 WHICH AMENDED ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, BY REVISING SECTION 2 OF SAID ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR THE APPROVAL OF A SITE PLAN FOR LOT 1, CITY BLOCK 319; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF NOVEMBER 1, 2000, WAS PRESENTED. A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman Plata, for adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Councilman McCarthy, for approval of the Final Plat of Briarwood II, subject to the requirements of the City Engineer. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. There being no further business, a motion was made by Councilman McCarthy, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Manning, to adjourn the meeting. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays.
