A RESOLUTION OF THE LAMAR COUNl'Y COMMISSIONERS COURT <br />AUTHORIZING A FORTY PERCENT (40%) CONTRIBUTION IN <br />ACCORDANCE WITH THE COUNTY'S EXISTING CONTRACT WITH <br />THE CITY OF PARIS FOR EMERGENCY AMBULANCE SERVICE TO <br />DEFRAY A PORTION OF THE TRADE-IN VALUE OF A SURPLUS <br />AMBULANCE TO BE DONATED TO THE LAMAR COUNTY CHAPTER <br />OF THE AMERICAN RED CROSS FOR USE AS A DISASTER RELIEF <br />VEHICLE; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO <br />THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City EMS Ambulance Service has identified an existing model year 1997 <br />Ford F350 Type 1 Ambulance, designated Medic 4 by the City Ambulance Service, as a vehicle <br />and piece of equipment, because of age, mileage, and use, no longer considered necessary for <br />ambulance purposes and thereby considered surplus equipment; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the Ciry of Paris, Paris, Texas, has heretofore authorized <br />the exchange of said surplus vehicle as a trade-in towards the purchase of a new ambulance, with <br />a trade-in value of $15,503.00; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Lamar Counry Chapter of the American Red Cross, by and through its <br />Executive Director, Lisa McAllister, has petitioned the City Council of the City of Paris to <br />transfer said equipment to the American Red Cross for subsequent use as a disaster relief vehicle; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, the Lamaz County Chapter of the American Red Cross has offered a donation <br />in the amount of $7,000.00 to defray a portion of the value of the aforesaid surplus vehicle as a <br />trade-in for a new ambulance; and, <br />WHEREAS, in order to support the City of Paris and the American Red Cross in the <br />endeavor to provide the Red Cross a disaster relief vehicle, the Lamar County Commissioners <br />Court desires the expenditure by Lamaz County of forty percent (40°l0) of the remaining trade-in <br />value of the surplus vehicle, that is, forry percent (40%) of $8,503.00, or $3,401.20, as said forty <br />percent (40%) represents the County's shaze of the unreimbursed expense of operating the <br />ambulance service pursuant to the existing ambulance service contract between Lamaz County and <br />the City of Paris; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LAMAR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />tttings approved. <br />Section 2. That Lamaz County does hereby endorse and support the transfer of an existing <br />model year 1997 Ford F350 Type 1 Ambulance, designated Medic 4 by the Ciry of Paris <br />Ambulance Service, to be transfened by the City of Pazis to the Lamar County Chapter of the <br />American Red Cross for subsequent use as a disaster relief vehicle. <br />
