A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, REFERRING A REQUEST FROM LAMAR COUNTY, THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNER, TO THE PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION FOR THE ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF A FORTY (40) FOOT STREET KNOWN AS W. PRICE STREET IN CITY BLOCK 41 BETWEEN N. MAIN STREET (U.S. HWY 271) AND 1ST STREET N.W. BEGINNING AT THE WEST BOUNDARY LINE OF N. MAIN STREET GOING WEST TO THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF 1ST STREET N.W.; SETTING PUBLIC HEARINGS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is in receipt of a request from Lamar County, the adj acent property owner, requesting that a portion of the street known as W. Price Street in City Block 41 be abandoned from the west boundary line of N. Main Street west to the east boundary line of lst Street N.W.; and, WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the citizens of Paris that such request for street abandonment be reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Paris and that a recommendation be made to the City Council for final action; and, WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that a public hearing be set before the Planning and Zoning Commission at 5:30 p.m., in the City Council Chamber, City Hall, Paris, Texas, on the 4th day of February, 2002, and before the City Council at 6:00 p.m. on the 7th day of February, 2002; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the matter of abandoning a portion of the street known as W. Price Street from the west boundary line of N. Main Street (U. S. Hwy 271) west to the east boundary line of lst Street N.W., be, and the same is hereby, referred to the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City of Paris for its recommendation.
