Library Advisory Board <br />Fe6ruary 20, 2002 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE LIBRARY <br />ADVISORY BOARD <br />February 20, 2002 <br />The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met in regular session <br />Wednesday, February 20, 2002, at 4:00 PM in the Library with Chairman <br />Nancee Salzman presiding. The following members were present: Peggy <br />Guthrie, Anna Davis, Sarah Gambill, Fran Neeley, Vicki Terlap, Keith <br />Williamson, and Nancee Salzman. Also attending were Callie Thompson, <br />Friends President and Setty Landon, Library Director. Not attending <br />were Walter Williams and John Howison. <br />The January 16, 2002 minutes were approved. <br />The budget is in good shape. There is approximately $110,000 left in the <br />book budget. There was a repair expense for the library van. Shelving for <br />the books on CD is in and planning for next year's budget has begun. <br />All areas of circulation have increased, as well as other areas of <br />miscellaneous statistics. Thirty-two memorials were given in January for a <br />total of $650. <br />Children's Services presented 5 programs in January to 3, 4, and 5 year <br />olds with a total of 98 children and 48 adults attending. A Valentine's Day <br />program was heald. Two programs were presented at Kiddy Kollege. A <br />program called, Games of Long Ago, was presented with 12 children and 3 <br />adults attending. Preschool Outreach held 15 programs with 209 children <br />and 51 adults attending. <br />The Adult Outreach presented 4 programs at nursing homes with 71 <br />people attending. New books have been added to the adult outreach <br />program. 80 interlibrary loan transactions were processed. <br />There was no new business. <br />In unfinished business, Vicki Terlap reported that she is still working on <br />the Kindergarten program. She suggested,a flyer for the program and <br />ideas were discussed. It was suggested thaf a kindergarten program be <br />
