A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF DEEDS OF ABANDONMENT TO THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNERS OF A FORTY (40) FOOT STREET KNOWN AS W. PRICE STREET IN CITY BLOCKS 10 AND 41, ABANDONED BY ORDINANCE NO. 2002- , BETWEEN N. MAIN STREET (U.S. HWY 271) AND 1ST STREET N.W., BEGINNING AT THE WEST BOUNDARY LINE OF N. MAIN STREET GOING WEST TO THE EAST BOUNDARY LINE OF 1ST STREET N.W.; MAHING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City Council of the City of Paris that there is a street known as W. Price Street running east and west, beginning at the west boundary line of N. Main Street (LJ. S. Hwy 271), going west to the east boundary line of 1 st Street N. W.; and, WHEREAS, it has been called to the attention of the City Council by request of the property owner that the street is not desired by the property owner adjacent to said street but that said street is of use and necessary to the City ofParis and its citizens for drainage and utility easement purposes; and, WHEREAS, the City Council, by prior Ordinance No. 2002- , adopted March 7, 2002, has authorized the City to abandon the City's interest in the aforesaid street and, WHEREAS, itis deemed appropriate thatthe City's interestin said streetbe conveyed to the adjacent owner on either side of said street and that drainage and utility easements be retained; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. Thatthe Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City of Paris, a deed of abandonment conveying to the adjacent owner on either side of said street, in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, the City's interest in the abandoned street located between N. Main Street (U. S. Hwy 271) and 1 st StreetN. W., beginning atthe westboundary line of N. Main Street going west to the east boundary line of 1 st Street N. W., it appearing that the real and true owner of the hereinafter described lots is as follows:
