A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, CHANGING THE NAME OF THE MAIN STREET PROJECT ADVISORY BOARD TO THE MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD; REVISING THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD FROM NINE (9) TO ELEVEN (11) MEMBERS; MAHING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 9th day of March, 1998, by Resolution No. 98-031, establish the Main Street Project Advisory Board; and, WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 16th day of July, 2001, in Resolution No. 2001-117, re-establish and continue a Main Street Project Advisory Board to act in an advisory capacity to the City Council in relation to the Main Street Project; and, WHEREAS, the City of Paris has been designated an Official Graduate Main Street City by the Texas Historical Commission and participates in the Texas Main StreetProgram, and because ofthis designation, it is deemed appropriate the name ofthe Main StreetProject Advisory Board be changed to the Main Street Advisory Board; and, WHEREAS, it is further deemed appropriate the membership of said Board be increased to eleven (11) members; and, WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris does hereby recommend the appointments of Karen Wilkerson and Zachary Saffle to serve in the newly added positions far terms which end March 31, 2004; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS: Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things approved. Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris does hereby deem it advisable to change the name of the Main Street Project Advisory Board to the Main Street Advisory Board, to act in an advisory capacity to the City Council in relation to the City's participation in the Texas Main StreetProgram, with said Board to consist of eleven (11) members far tertns of three (3) years each. Section 3. That Karen Wilkerson and Zachary Saffle be, and they are hereby, appointed to serve as mew members of the Main Street Advisory Board of the City of Paris far terms which end March 31, 2004. Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage.
