Code; and, <br />WHEREAS, each applicant desires to develop, consh-uct, own, manage, maintain, and <br />operate affordable housing developments for elderly residents, each consisting of seventy-six (76) <br />units to be located in or annexed to the city of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds and determines thatboth projects would greatly benefit <br />the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the city of Paris by fulfilling a need within the city <br />for affordable senior citizens rental housing, and it is deemed appropriate that the City Council <br />express its support for both projects; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all things <br />approved. <br />Section 2. That the City Council finds and determines that the two local projects under <br />consideration for an award under the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Program, one being <br />located at 1400 W. Washington Street, known as Paris Retirement Village, and the other being <br />located at 2600 Stillhouse Road, known as The Residences on Stillhouse Road, would greatly benefit <br />the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the city of Paris by fulfilling a need for affordable <br />senior citizens rental housing, and it is deemed appropriate that the City Council express its support <br />for both projects. <br />Section 3. That this resolution shall be presented to the Texas Department of Housing and <br />Community Affairs (TDHCA) and to all other appropriate State and Federal officials, whether <br />appointed or elected, as an expression of support on the part of the City of Paris for said projects. <br />Section 4. That this resolution shall be effective from and after its date of passage. <br />PASSED BY UNANIMOUS VOTE OF THOSE COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT <br />AND PARTICIPATING on this 8th day of April, 2002. <br />Michael J.
