Section 3. That, in accordance with V.T.C.A., Election Code, Section 2.053, and the findings <br />in the preamble to this ordinance, and because there are no propositions to appear on the ballot, it is <br />hereby determined and directed that on May 4, 2002, no municipal elections shall be held in Council <br />Districts 1, 2, and 6. <br />Section 4. That the City Clerk, or her assistant, be, and he or she is hereby, directed to post <br />a copy of this Ordinance on election day at the polling places for Council Districts 1, 2, and 6 that <br />would have been used in the election, and at such other places as required by State law. <br />Section 5. That a certificate of election shall be issued to each candidate deemed elected <br />under this ordinance in the same manner as provided for a candidate elected at the election. <br />Section 6. That this ordinance shall become effective on April 8, 2002. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 8th day of April, 2002. <br />Michael J.
