Minutes <br />Traffic Commission <br />City of Paris <br />The Traffic Commission met on Tuesday, January 8th, 2013 at 5:15 P.M. in the Municipal Courtroom with <br />the following members present: <br />1. 1on McFadden <br />2. Barry Shiver <br />3. Susan Hamby <br />4. Ken Kohls <br />The city staff was represented by Chief Bob Hundley as Asst. Chief Tuttle was ill <br />Mr. McFadden called the meeting to order at 5:15 PM. A quorum was established with four members <br />present. <br />Mr. McFadden moved to item #2 to approve the minutes from the November 6th 2012, meeting. Ms. <br />Hamby made a motion to accept the minutes as presented. That motion was seconded by Mr. Kohls <br />and the motion carried 4-0. <br />Mr. McFadden moved to item #3 regarding a complaint of a problem intersection at NW 4th Street and <br />West Provine Street. Chief Hundley briefed the commission on the complaint regarding the <br />intersection's SE corner. This corner has an elevated yard with a privacy fence and partially obstructs <br />the vision for traffic northbound on NW 4`h street approaching W. Provine. The staff recommendation <br />was to provide stop signs for north and southbound traffic in effect creating a 4-way stop as stop signs <br />were already in place for east and westbound traffic on W. Provine. Information regarding a vehicle <br />crash at the intersection was shared with the commission. Ms. Hamby made a motion to install stop <br />signs for north/southbound traffic on 4`h NW at the intersection of W. Provine. The motion was <br />seconded by Mr. Shiver and passed on a 4-0 vote for. <br />Mr. McFadden moved to the 4`h item on the agenda and asked for any items that needed to be placed <br />on a future agenda. Mr. Kohls asked for an update from the Texas Department of Transportation <br />regarding the letter for options dealing with the crossover on the SE Loop. <br />No other items were brought forth and Mr. McFadden moved for adjournment, seconded by Mr. Kohls <br />and the motion carried 4-0 allowing the meeting to end at 5:40 P.M. <br />
