Pazis Public Library Advisory Boazd <br />Meeting Minutes <br />December 19, 2012 <br />Opening: <br />The regulaz meeting of the Paris Library Advisory Board was called to order at 2:05 in the Gallery. <br />Ptesent: <br />Board members present were Pat Books, Deborah Hadley, Linda Vandiver, Alice Woodatd, and Director Priscilla McAnally. <br />Special guest was Leigh Igo. <br />I. Approval of Minutes: <br />The minutes of the previous meeting needed one small correction of capitalization and punctuation, and then were <br />approved by the board as corrected. <br />II. New Business: <br />A. Leigh Igo, the Reference paraprofessional for the Library, presented a discussion of her duties. She seazches <br />for answers to questions from patrons; handles approximately 200 interlibrary loans each <br />month; receives memorial requests and purchases books; handles electronic references as <br />needed; reshelves books; other duties as required. <br />B. The Director presented policy revisions for Collection Development and Circulation. In the Citculation policy, <br />deletions included issuance and use of Institutional Library Cards because of the difficulty in finding in the <br />institution who would assume responsibility for all use of the card.. The one addition was to include that the <br />library is subject to the USA Patriot Act Improvement and Reauthorization Act of 2005, as amended. In the <br />Collection Development Policy, there were only minor deletions and additions of words to refine and simplify <br />the language. <br />III. No old business was presented: <br />IV. Presentations: <br />A. Budget Report: Item "Buildings and Grounds" expenditures include the pwchase and installation of a new <br />air conditioning unit for $8,500 fi-om Robert Walker Air Conditioning. <br />B. Statistical Report: Circulation dropped slightly to almost 3%, and Library Visits declined less than 1%. <br />V. No Friends of the Library Report. <br />VI.
